COMPETENCY 3B

Create and implement self-sustaining business management projects in diverse cultural contexts to promote the integral well-being of people with a vision of hope and missionary Christian service.

In the sustainability class, I collaborated with a fellow student to review a management project for his recycling company. This project would not only provide energy in the form of diesel for the operation of their recycled trucks but would also assist local schools in raising money to address some of their facility needs, addressing goal 4 which calls for quality education and goal 7 which focuses on creating and providing affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all from the UN sustainability goals.

Additionally, I organized churches in my pastoral district into teams to operate a soup kitchen providing hot meals weekly to the vulnerable, senior citizens, retirees, and sick with no one to take care of them and some who are unemployed with lots of children. We targeted the community people living in the diaspora (England, Canada and United States) and local supermarkets to sponsor the eradicating of hunger in the district communities. The volunteers were church members and community people working together in partnership for the goal 17 and also goal 2 zero hunger. Thus eradicating hunger in the church community. We leveraged the cyclical innovation model to accomplish this project.
